Easter Sunday
A PRAYER FOR EASTER
Lord of life
You defeated death
To demonstrate a love that is
Beyond our understanding
That reaches out even to me
Saving Grace to all who hear
Christ the Lord is risen to-day. Alleluia!

Appointment update!
It was wonderful to be able to announce recently that
Revd Phill Harrison will be joining us with his family as vicar– here’s a short message from him:
‘My family and I very excited about joining you all in Wroughton and Wichelstowe in July. My wife, Karen, and I were impressed by both the warmth of the welcome we received on our familiarisation day and the strength of the team in Wroughton. We have two secondary school age children, Aidan and Ciara (say: kee-ah-rah), both of whom are eager to explore what will become their new home. We currently live in Corsham, near Chippenham, where I am the Assistant Curate. Before this we lived in north Bristol… so God has been gradually calling us eastwards along the M4 towards Wroughton. We look forward to being with you in the not too distant future!’
Appointment update– Licensing service
Good news! Revd Phill Harrison will be licensed as vicar of the parish of Wroughton and Wichelstowe on Monday 16th July at 7.30pm– get the date in your diary!
Revision of Electoral Roll
It’s the time of year when we update our Electoral Roll. If you are a regular worshipper here and are not yet on our Electoral Roll, please fill in an Application Form available in church and return it to a churchwarden/clergyperson/parish office by 6th April.
If you wish to vote at our Annual Parochial Church Meeting in church on Sunday 29 April at 11am and are not already on our church’s Electoral Roll you need to have returned your signed form by 6 April.
Any queries, please speak to Helen Toomer (PCC Secretary) or Mike/Helena (Churchwardens).
Dementia Friends Information Session
Further to running a session last year, I am looking to run a further session after Easter. Dementia Friends is a social action movement that aims to increase understanding of dementia and inspire people to take action to support people affected by dementia in their community. The sessions last for 1 hour – would you like to come along to learn more about dementia and how we can help those around us?? If so, please sign the sign up sheet with your details on the Church Chest. I will then plan dates and let you know when the sessions are running – Many thanks Cheryl
Blanket Box
To give thanks and to celebrate the new boiler in Church, there is a blanket box by the book case in Church – please feel free to donate any blankets which can then be passed to Charities that support the homeless in Swindon – Thank you Cheryl
Quiz time.
It’s nearly time for the annual Quiz Night in aid of the Harbour Project. This is one of their main fundraising events, and if you would like to support their work and also have a fun evening as part of a quiz team with fish and chips as well, please come along on Friday, 13th April to St Joseph’s College in Swindon, 7.00 for 7.30 p.m. start. We already have one team signed up from our church and it would be great to have another. Tickets are £10 each including supper and if you are interested, please speak Margaret Penfound (tel. 812139).
