Easter 5

A PRAYER FOR EASTER

Lord of life
You defeated death
To demonstrate a love that is

That reaches out even to me
Saving Grace to all who hear
Christ the Lord is risen to-day. Alleluia!

There are five vacancies to be filled and to be eligible you need to have been on the electoral roll for 6 months. Nomination forms are available in church and when completed please hand either to Helen Toomer (PCC Secretary), either of the churchwardens or to the Parish Office. If you think you may be interested or would like more information, please ask any of the current PCC members or leadership team.

Have you thought about becoming a member of Diocesan Synod? Any church member on the electoral roll over the age of 16 is eligible to stand for election, you do not have to be a PCC or Deanery Synod member to stand. For more information speak to Barbara.

CHURCH IN THE WIDER WORLD

Swindon Youth for Christ

Swindon Youth for Christ staff and volunteers go out to meet young people where they are. Many areas of Swindon, including Wichelstowe get a weekly visit from the team, so that young people who are out on the streets have the opportunity to talk about their lives and their issues with the youth workers.

Please pray for the conversations that take place and the relationships that are built, so that the young people may be encouareged to make positive life choices.

Knitting for Mission to Seafarers

A big thank you to our faithful knitters. I have sent off 27 hats, 1 pair of gloves, 1 balaclava and 8 scarves. There are several balls of wool in the box so if you have the time please get knitting. Patterns are also in the box.  Janet Henderson

This week please also pray for:-

  • Swindon Youth for Christ
  • For those going through difficult times
  • The people of Syria
  • For reconciliation between North & South Korea
  • We commend to God’s care and keeping those who have died recently especially Joan Hayward, Sheila Pegler and Valerie Clark. We pray for all who mourn the loss of loved ones.
