Election of a second Churchwarden

You may recall that while we had one volunteer for the position of Churchwarden at our annual meeting in May there were two positions to be filled. The good news is that another volunteer has now come forward and so a short meeting for the election of a second Churchwarden to fill the casual vacancy existing since the last meeting of parishioners held on 15 May 2022 will be held in church immediately following the 10am service starting at 11.15 am on SUNDAY 3rd JULY 2022. This meeting may be attended by: (1) All persons whose names are entered on the church electoral roll of the parish and (2) All persons resident in the parish whose names are entered on a register of local government electors by reason of such residence. If there are any other volunteers please contact Helen Toomer via the Parish Office for a nomination form.

Chris Hunter’s ordination

Chris Hunter will be ordained priest at Bristol Cathedral on Saturday 2nd July at 3.00pm. It would be wonderful to see lots of people there as part of the service. If you are planning on attending, please let Chris know so we have an idea of numbers.  We are considering hiring a coach (depending on numbers) – approx cost would be £15.00 per person.  if you are interested please sign the list at the back of the Church or let Ross Fralley or Janet  (812050 office@wroughton.com) know asap.

Churches Count on Nature – Sunday 12th June, Church at 4

As part of the national Churches Count on Nature scheme we will be conducting a wildlife survey of the churchyard at Church at 4 on Sunday 12th June. Last year’s survey found 50 different plant species, 25 trees, 7 birds and 9 invertebrates. We want to find out if the biodiversity of our church land is improving.

Church at 4 will move to the parish church on 12th, to conduct the survey, as part of a service giving thanks to God for the wonderful world we have been given. We’d love to welcome you to take part in this.

Come along from 3.45pm, when there will be refreshments available, then see what you can spot.
