2015 Year of discipleship

Sunday 21st June 2015

Trinity 3

Lord, by your Holy Spirit,

Our new informal 4pm service in the Parish Hall each Sunday begins on 26th July and we would like to encourage everyone to think about how they might support this venture as we seek new opportunities to inspire and encourage present and future generations of disciples. There are many opportunities to get involved, and there will be a sign-up sheet at the back of the church after services today on which you can indicate your interest.

CMS (Church Mission Society) is active in many different countries, bringing the Gospel message and practical support by means of long and short term placements.

Please pray:

  • for the work that CMS is doing in Nepal, currently distributing food, clothing and tents to those made homeless by the earthquake
  • for the reconciliation ministry in Israel-Palestine led by CMS trustee Salim Munayer who is looking for more staff as the work is growing
  • for CMS-Africa, training women in basic business skills based on biblical perspectives, to enable them to earn a living.

Mission to Seafarers

Thank you to the two ladies who have recently given me knitted hats and scarves.  I sent them off and have received a Thank You letter from the charity.

This week please pray for:-

  • Church Mission Society
  • The residents of Markham Place and Markham Road
  • For William & Lucy and Vincent & Donna who marry in Church next weekend.
  • We commend to God’s care and keeping those who have died recently especially Maurice New, Linda Sturman, Iris Sainsbury, Daniel O’Connell, Aubrey Armstrong, Gillian Quilter and Dorothy Layzell. We pray for all who mourn the loss of loved ones.
