We will meet at Lansdowne Hill, Wharf Rd, SN4 9LF at 2.10pm, sing some carols, have refreshments and the chance to chat with residents before moving on to Banks Place, Moormead Rd,SN4 9BY to start singing there at 3.30. We will leave at about 4.30. Carols sheets and music will be provided. If you would like to join us please contact Janet Henderson on 01793 525856 or singingjan@icloud.com or speak to me at church. Thank you.
Brass ensemble at 8am service
On Sunday 22nd December we will be welcoming back the brass ensemble that played for us at our Harvest Festival service. Our music at 8am is usually ‘canned’, so it’s great to be able to have live musicians occasionally. Many thanks to Cheryl Cowley and the band.
Funeral of Susan Barrett and Simon Dubber
Many people will be aware that Susan sadly died on 17th November after a short illness. Simon, her husband, was overwhelmed by the thought of life without her and tragically chose to take his own life on 3rd December. There will be a combined funeral service for Susan and memorial service for Simon in church at 11:45 on Tuesday 17th December, followed by a wake at Basset Down Golf club (all welcome). Simon’s funeral is likely to be early in the New Year. Our thoughts and prayers are with Susan and Simon’s family, friends and work colleagues as they come to terms with the news of their deaths.
Filling Station
We have a received a letter from the Filling Station thanking us for the donation of food gifts at Harvest time, and for the support throughout the year.
Eco Church – Lifestyle Survey Results
Back in February we asked you to take part in an environmental lifestyle survey. Apologies for the long wait…… but we have now collated the results, which you can see by clicking on the link here: (The results will also be available to see in church for the next 2 or 3 weeks, for those who can’t use the link)
It’s a long list but an encouraging one. Do have a look and see all the ways in which our church members are caring for creation in many small ways – thank you to all those who responded, and for all you do to live an eco-friendly lifestyle. The Eco-Church Group will be using your responses to suggest activities that might help us all to care better for God’s Creation.

Knitting for Charity
This week I have delivered another blanket to GWH End of Life ward. This was made from donated squares which I assembled. This is the 24th blanket that we have sent to the hospital. A huge thank you to those of you who knit and crochet squares, to those who help to assemble them and to those who donate wool. You are amazing. The hospital uses about 500 of these blankets each year. Merry Christmas and a Happy Knitting New Year. Janet Henderson
