Nick speaks to the BBC
Last week Nick Orman spoke to the BBC about the effect of climate change on guttering design.
Bigger storms are putting pressure on guttering on UK homes. Link below – BBC News – https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c939e5xen89o?app-referrer=deep-link
Choral Evensong 7th September
I would like to thank all those who helped with organising and running our special Evensong last Sunday, especially the many catering staff involved. The visiting choir members were all astounded at the provision of food and drink in Wroughton church compared to their own churches! John
Ellendune 1200 commemoration.
Our church will be having a stand at the Ellendune 1200 event on the Weir Field on Saturday 13th September. There will be displays about the history of the Christian faith in Wroughton, where our bounda were, and what church would have been like in 825AD.
Do come to visit our stand and find our more about our history.
This means that we need some help. It would be good to have some more people who could come and spend some time at the stand so that everyone gets the chance to look at all the other displays., and we will need help putting up the event shelter on Saturday morning, carrying tables etc. and taking it down in the evening. If you can help in any way, please speak to Nick or Joan Orman.
Harvest breakfast in church – Sunday 5th October

Everyone is warmly invited! It will be a great opportunity to chat to old friends and make new ones.
Christ Church, Swindon – GOLD eco church award!
Congratulations to Christ Church who, following a rigorous assessment procedure and an interview day with 2 assessors, have achieved the Gold Eco Church award from A Rocha. Apparently, Christ Church is the 109th church in Britain to reach the Gold standard. They are the third Anglican church in the Bristol Diocese to do so, following St Peter’s Henleaze and Hazelnut Community Farm, and the first church here in Swindon.
Thank you to Steve Bessant
Louise asked her husband Steve to make a house/castle for the children to play with in the baptistry area. He got creative and it has turned into a castle/church! A big thank you to Steve on behalf of all the children, who I’m know will enjoy it very much. Revd Phill
