We have a new sound desk installed Friday 23rd January and although it works well for those who are in church we apologise that we need to adjust the settings for those joining us on youtube so that you can hear the music. Tearfund Mission Partner
For many years our church has supported the Christian charity Tearfund – in giving, prayer and supporting their aims and campaigns. Tearfund work in more than 50 countries tackling the complex challenges of poverty and injustice. On Sunday 15th February at our 10am service we have the privilege of welcoming Janet Papworth – who will speak about the charity, explain how Tearfund works through local churches and organisations and how lives and communities can and are being transformed. Janet & her husband will join us for coffee after the service, so please do take the opportunity to chat with them ☺️
VACANCY COLLECT
We invite you to read our Vacancy Collect at a convenient time during the week, as our prayer for God’s guidance and blessing as we seek our new Vicar.
Dear loving Father,
Creator and Sustainer
Our Rock and our Comforter.
We come humbly to you
With open and expectant hearts
So grateful for your friendship
Trusting that you hear and answer us.
We’re asking for your guidance
In our time of vacancy
That you would help us choose
The leader to take us on into the future.
Show us how to love and serve
Those communities where you have placed us.
Give us your vision and courage
And light the path ahead of us.
Lord, we’re listening for your voice
To faithfully follow you
With hearts wide open
And resting in your Presence.
We pray these things in the name of Jesus
And all for His glory.
All Amen

Tuesday Small Group – Church Hall
We have just finished the Bible Society’s Bible Course and we will be starting their course on the Book of Romans. The course tackles ten big themes found in the book of Romans which are key to understanding the Christian faith:
- Gospel – how can we become confident in our faith?
- Sin – what’s wrong with the world?
- Salvation – what’s so amazing about grace?
- Peace – how can we find rest in a stressful world?
- Freedom – how can we avoid negative cycles?
- Hope what has God promised?
- Mystery – if God is sovereign, what is our role?
- Devotion – how can we live full on for God?
- Community – how can we live together in love?
- Mission – how can we be ambitious with the gospel?
We meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month. If you would like to join us please speak to us. Nick & Joan
Do you have a few spare hours a week and would like to support a fantastic charity, helping support local people?
We are currently looking for volunteers for our warehouse, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday mornings. If this is something you would be interested in, please contact volunteering@swindonfoodcollective.org
Book & Jigsaw ‘Swap’ in Church
Yes, it’s back by popular demand! What could be better, as we wait for spring and the rain to stop, than reading a good book or getting engrossed in a jigsaw? For a few weeks from Sunday 15th February there will be tables in the north aisle for your donations of books & jigsaws and the opportunity to browse and take away anything you fancy. If you’re not able to bring in your unwanted books and jigsaws they can be collected – in which case contact Janet in the office or Helena (07909 882150) and we will arrange a convenient time to pick them up. The Patchwork Garden
Open Days 2025 10am – 4pm
18th April 25th April 23rd May 6th June
27 Dunbar Road, SN4 9DS
The garden is wheelchair accessible
We are again opening our garden through the “Quiet Garden Movement”. We have several quiet seating areas, each with resources to allow you to “come by your self and know God”, through using your five senses in nature. Seating is both in full sun and shade. Drinks will be available, and you are welcome to bring a picnic.
We can also put the resources out for your small groups to come for their summer event in July. There is plenty of space for a group activity, and as individuals three or four people will have enough places to move around freely.
Wroughton Carnival 2026
The carnival this year will be on the 4th July. Members of the Church will be involved in a number of ways through other groups they are members of. Mark and Sheila Tubey are looking after the Parade this year, and need volunteers. Some will be for a couple hours including briefing, to stand at road entrances, as the procession passes. Another afternoon short time volunteer role will be at the entrances on the field, receiving donations from those going into the site. Of course there is also a need for people to help set up early morning, or clear away at the end of the day. If you can spare a few hours on July 4th, please speak to Mark or Sheila, or e amil mark_tubey@shy.com
Ellendune Community Centre
As Chairman of the Friends of the Ellendune community centre I would like to invite you to join us. We have a WhatsApp group for Friends where we can keep you up to date with events we are organising and where we will ask for help should we need volunteers. If you would particularly like to join our Committee please talk to me.
Information can also be found in the Wroughton monthly. Sally Parker
