The churchyard at Wroughton is a place of peace, reflection, and remembrance. It has been part of village life for many centuries and continues to be visited by those tending graves, remembering loved ones, or simply enjoying the quiet surroundings.
Set around the church, the area includes open grass, mature trees, wild spaces, and seating where visitors can pause and take in the views across to Swindon and the Cotswolds. A large yew tree stands at the front of the church, sheltering some of the oldest graves in the churchyard.
Today, the churchyard is cared for by parish volunteers who aim to maintain it as a respectful and tranquil space for all.

Looking After the Churchyard
Maintenance of the churchyard is now the responsibility of Swindon Borough Council, who cut the grass only twice a year. Teams of volunteers provide additional support to ensure that it remains a peaceful, respectful and welcoming place for everyone.
